ELIGIBILITY
M.A.: Bachelor degree in any Faculty under (10+2+3) having atleast 50% marks in aggregate Or B.A. with Sanskrit as an elective subject with atleast 45% marks Or B.A.(Hons) in Sanskrit, Or Three years Shastri (New Course) examination.
M.Phil: M.A. in Sanskrit with atleast 55% marks or equivalent overall G.P.A.
            
Admission to the courses shall be made on the basis of merit in the Entrance Test   conducted by the Department.

Candidates admitted in M.A. Sanskrit will be exempted from tution fee.

Ph.D: The Department provides facilites for research work for Ph.D.  Candidates are required to pass the Ph.D. Eligibilty Test conducted by the University.

 The Department has been sanctioned a U.G.C. Major Research Project entitled "Punjab as a Repository and Source of Sanskrit Literature.
