ADMISSION CRITERIA:-
Eligibility
B.Lib & Information Science B.Lib & Information Science-B.A/B.Sc./B.Com under 10+2+3 System with atleast 50% marks in aggregate or any other examination recognized as equivalent therto.
Or
M.A/M.Sc/M.Com with atleast 50% marks in aggregate, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto. M.Lib & Information Science
M.Lib & information Science:- B.Lib & information Sci. with atleast 50% marks in aggregate from Guru Nanak Dev University or from any other University recognized as equivalent therto with B.A/B.Sc/B.Com(10+2+3) with at least 50% marks in aggregate or any other examination equivalent therto,
Or
with M.A/M.Sc/M.Com having atleast 50% marks in aggregate or any other examination equivalent thereto.

PROCESS OF ADMISSION Admission Through Entrance Test: Admission to both the courses shall be made exclusively on the basis of merit in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Department. The B.Lib & Inf. Sci test be conducted out of General Knowledge and

M.Lib & inf Sci. Will be conducted in the subjects of (i) Foundations of Librarianship, (ii) Library Classification(Theory),(iii) Library Cataloguing(Theory), (iv) Management of Library and information Centres, (V) Inforamtion Sources and Services.

DIPLOMA & CERTIFICATION(DISTANCE MODE) :Diploma in Library & Information Science
Eligibility Conditions Candidates seeking admission in Diploma in Library Science must have passed ten plus two (10+2) examination, obtaining at least 50% marks, with English as one of the subjects or equivalent examination of a statutory University or Board. Admission will be made on the basis of merit in accordance with following criteria Criteria

I. Ten plus Two (With English as one of the subjects) with at least 50% marks

II. Weight age
     A) B.A/B.Sc/B.Com 1st Division 3 marks 2nd Division 2 marks 3rd Division 1 mark
     B) M.A/M.Sc/M.com 1st Division 5 marks 2nd Division 3 marks 3rd Division 1 mark
     C) if a candidate has passed Certificate Course in Library Science form a recognized institution, the weightage will be as
          under: Duration of Course Weightage
                   i) For 9 months to 1 Year            10 marks
                   ii) For 3 month to 6 month           5 marks
                  iii) Experience

Experience in Govt. Institution/Distt Library(under DPI Colleges) Municipal Corporation/Municipal Library

1 Mark of the completion of one year Service with a maximum of 10 marks
