ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Electronics & Communication Engg. was started in Regional Campus, Ladhewali Jalandhar in 1992. The department has well qualified faculty along with other facilities like library and labs.

COURSE OFFERED

B.Tech.(Electronics & Communication Engg.), 8 semesters course is being run in this campus. Students are admitted in this course through Combined Entrance Test(CET) conducted by Punjab Technical University every year.

1. Well equipped Devices and Circuits Lab., Digital Electronics Lab., Communication Systems Lab., Microprocessor Lab., Measurement Lab., Instrumentation Lab. and Printed Circuit Boards Lab. are the key features of the department.
2. Combined Library having approx. 25,000 books.
3. Well established Reading Hall with latest magazines and daily newspapers.
4. Projectors available for use in class rooms.
5. The Regional Campus has an NSS Deptt. that carries out various voluntary activities. Mr. Harminder Singh, Lecturer has an additional charge of being the Programme Officer of NSS Deptt.

PLACEMENT INFORMATION

Students of the department are fully involved in placement activities being run in Guru Nanak Dev University Main Campus, Amritsar. Students get good placements every year. Last year, students got placed in TCS, ACCENTURE, HCL and other reputed companies.

CO-CURRICULUR ACTIVITIES

1. Students' Technical Committee 'ESTEEM' organizes Technical Events in the department/campus annually. Technical Festival (Techfest) 'INSIGNIA' was organized by the students of the department of Computer Sc. & Engg. and Electronics & Communication Engg. in the month of September in 2009

2. Zonal Youth Festival was organized in the campus in which students of the department took part enthusiastically.
