The
department specializes in (i) Indian Political
System (ii) State Politics with special reference
to Punjab (iii) International Politics with
special emphasis upon South Asia, South West Asia
and the problems of Third World. The Punjab
Journal of Politics , a biannual research
journal of the Department is being published regularly
since 1977. It carries papers mainly from three
areas as given above. The department a programme
of teaching and research guidance leading to the
degrees of M.A., M.Phill. and Ph.D.
